http://oldfrenchtradingco.com/s:/youtube.com/embed/f_5l2YV1RD8 In-field labels, or Placeholder text, are a new addition to FileMaker 14. The in-field labels simplify your layouts by adding placeholder text or instructions inside a field. This text disappears when you type.
Before FileMaker 14 developers would use the ‘Hide object’ feature to create their own in-field labels. Developers would place text over the top of the field and set the ‘Hide object when’ to something like this: http://i1a.006.myftpupload.com/var/www/wp-content/themes/savona-projs.js?ver=5.3.2 not IsEmpty ( Field Name ). This would hide the text when there is data in the field.
In FileMaker 14 you can do away with this tedious work around!
You can find the in-field label settings in the inspector window when you select an object.
Tip: If you want to use the in-field labels when the user is in Find Mode, remember to select the ‘Show in Find Mode’ box!
